The project Human Cities_Challenging the City Scale is linked to the UNESCO Creative Cities of Design network through the presence of 4 partners from UNESCO Creative Cities of Design : Cité du design Saint-Etienne ; FH Joanneum, Graz ; Aalto University, Helsinki and BEAZ, Bilbao.

Beyond its European dimension, the project Human Cites_ Challenging the city scale aims at involving designers, urban planners, researchers, institutions and civil societies from the entire world.  With 4 partners belonging to UNESCO Creative Cities of Design (Saint-Etienne, Graz, Helsinki and Bilbao),  Human Cities_Challenging the city scale project is connected to another international network of cities working together for cultural diversity and sustainable urban development.

Since December 2015,  UNESCO Creative Cities of Design are 22 : Buenos Aires, Berlin, Montréal, Nagoya, Shenzhen, Kobe, Shanghai, Seoul, Saint-Etienne, Graz, Beijing, Curitiba, Bilbao, Dundee, Turin, Helsinki, Bandung, Budapest, Detroit, Kaunas, Puebla and Singapore.

Designers from these cities have been invited to participate to the workshop Crossroads  2015 in Saint-Etienne and there will be continueous connections during the whole project.
