Helsinki is the northernmost Human Cities participant. The Finnish capital is known for its beautiful architecture and light summer nights. In recent years, the city has seen the uprise of a booming pop-up culture and urban movements, such as the now global Restaurant Day. Technological know-how and a successfull startup scene are also important trademarks of the city.

Human Cities Helsinki is represented by Group X from Aalto University. The focus of the programme in Helsinki will be to activate public spaces and to encourage interaction through design.
