The scenarios in this Window are focused on living an authentic life, representing a world in which people’s daily rhythms will shift, time for work and leisure will blend into a continuous timeline, and new technologies will allow us to travel to exotic locations while staying local. Climate change has an impact on these patterns as well (European Commission, 2020). By creating more meaningful experiences, we could envision transitioning from the concept of tourism (visiting a place as a visitor) to a deeper understanding and exploring the world (visiting a place to blend with the local culture and leave a mark).
